![]() Supposed to be Win 8 compatible and it did the same thing so here I sit thinking it could be an issue with Windows itself. The thing is, I bought an HP all in one printer before this one that was I'm pretty good with computers but stumped on this one. I checked my firewall settings, and even tried installing while in clean boot. I reboot again and the driver is gone yet again. I want to try the scanner and it's like it's not there. I reboot, and low and behold the driver appears to have installed, so I print a test page and it works. I found it useful to make one additional shortcut via Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > 'Canon MG2220 series printer', to allow easy access to all of the internal printer settings and variables. I uninstalled and tried again, checking device manager as well and still the driver isn't found. Also the Canon IJ Scan utility was reinstalled automatically as a part of that driver installation process. ![]() It says please wait, and also says it detects it, but then stops just like it did when I tried to install from the software cd. ![]() I downloaded directlyįrom there, ran the install and it goes fine until the 3rd step which is when I plug the printer into the computer and turn it on. I went to Canon's web site and they do list the driver for Win 8, 64 bit. Attempted to install the software for my brand new printer on my new computer today, and I keep getting error messages that the printer driver file can't be found. ![]()
